Kurt Moon begins his seventh year coaching the Iowa Wesleyan men's golf program

In 2013-2014, Moon helped coach the Tigers to a third place finish in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, where Blake Mitchell took home medalist honors and was named SLIAC Player of the Year.


In 2010-11, the Tigers finished ninth at the Midwest Collegiate Conference Championship, and his team featured a two-time meet medalist in Blake Mitchell, the IWU men's team's first meet medalist since 2009.

In his first two years, Moon coached the Tigers at tournaments and handled much of the program's recruiting. He also directed IWC's Fun City Classic at Spirit Hollow Golf Course in Burlington as well as IWU's hosting of the 2011 Midwest Collegiate Conference Golf Championships at Blue Top Ridge Golf Course in Riverside.

Moon is a successful Mount Pleasant area businessman and owns the Brown's Shoe-Fit store in Mount Pleasant. He is a member of the Mount Pleasant Country Club and has been a member of the club's board of directors. He also has worked at IWU basketball games for over 20 years at the scorer's table. He and his wife Mary have two adult children and reside in Mount Pleasant.
