BJ Wagy enters her second year at the help of the Tigers after joining the Iowa Wesleyan athletic staff as the new volleyball coach for the 2014-2015 season. She comes to IWU after graduating from Barry University in May of 2014, with her master’s degrees in Sport Management and Business Administration.
Wagy is a native of Cedar Rapids, IA and a 2011 graduate of IWU with a degree in Exercise Science and Sports Management. She was a member of both the volleyball and track and field teams during her time at the university. Wagy holds the school career record for solo blocks with 241, and is 2nd all-time in total blocks with 439. She ended her career with 1,000 kills, ranking 5th in school history. Wagy received Honorable Mention All-Conference honors 3 times while playing at IWU. She also received Academic All-America Honors while at Wesleyan.
Aleksandra Popovic joins the Iowa Wesleyan University Volleyball team as a graduate assistant on the coaching staff. She brings collegiate volleyball experience to the Tigers, playing at both the junior college and university levels.
Popovic received her Associates Degree of Arts and Sciences from Mineral Area College in Missouri. She was a member of the volleyball team both years she attended the junior college. In her freshman season, she was a part of the team that made school history. The team won Region XVI for the first time ever and went on to the National Tournament and finished 10th in the nation. After finishing her degree at Mineral Area College, she transferred to Campbellsville University in Kentucky and was a member of the volleyball team for two years. Popovic graduated from Campbellsville in May of 2015 with a degree in Sports Management.
Popovic is a native of Belgrade, Serbia and came to the United States in August of 2011.
Emma Pisarik joins the Iowa Wesleyan University volleyball team as an assistant on the coaching staff.
She is a recent graduate from Mount Mercy University in 2016 with an undergraduate degree in Psychology.
She was a four year starter for Mount Mercy’s women’s program and helped lead the team to its first ever National Tournament berth in school history.
Pisarik is a native of Mount Vernon, Iowa.
