Mount Pleasant, Iowa - October 3, 2017 - The Iowa Wesleyan men's and women's golf teams competed in the Waldorf Invitational on Sunday, October 1st. The one day event was held at Bear Creek Golf Course in Forest City, Iowa.
The IW men's golf team took home a third place finish after turning in a team score of 313. The Tigers placed ahead of four other teams, and were led by Kiley Miller (SR/Mt. Pleasant, IA) and Brock Butler (SR/Palmyra, MO). Miller shot a 74 to place second individually, while Butler recorded a score of 75 to tie for third place.
The women's team ended the one day event in fourth place. Hannah Lien (SO/Ottumwa, IA) and Madelyn Calease were the top finishers for the Tiger women. Lien finished the day with a final score of 96, placing twelfth overall. Calease shot a 110 for the Tigers and placed twenty-second.
Both the men's and women's teams will be back in action on Wednesday, October 4th when they host the IW Fall Invite. The event will be held at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course in Fort Madison, Iowa with the women teeing off around 10:30 am.
