Hannibal, Missouri - September 7, 2017 - The Iowa Wesleyan University men's soccer team played their second match of the week this afternoon. The Tigers took on Hannibal-LaGrange University in a non-conference matchup at 2 pm.  The Trojans handed the Tigers their second loss this week, defeating IW by a score of 6-1

Hannibal-LaGrange took a two goal lead in the opening period, scoring at the 21:16 minute mark and at the 22:24 minute mark.  The Tiger defense did not have an answer for the Trojans offensive attack, and they gave up two more goals before the half was over.

Iowa Wesleyan gave up another goal 76:09 minutes into play to fall behind 0-5.  The Tigers were finally able to get on the board with a goal at the 79:59 minute mark. Dylan Lawerence (FR/Australia) scored his first goal of the season, scoring on assists by David Chaves Duran (SO/Costa Rica) and Pablo Garcia (FR/Spain). The Trojans added one more goal in the second half and secured a 6-1 victory over the Tigers.

The Tigers were outshot 13-31 in the match, and Chris Rimmer (FR/England) led IW with nine saves.  Dylan Lawerence had a team high four shots on goal, while David Chaves Duran and Alejo Vaccoro (FR/Spain) each added one shot on goal.

Iowa Wesleyan will open up at home on Sunday, September 10th. They will host Grinnell College in a 1 pm match.  IW is now 1-2 on the season.
