Cedar Rapids, Iowa - September 5, 2017 - The Tigers of Iowa Wesleyan University hit the road this afternoon to take on the Kohawks in men's soccer action.  Although IW outshot Coe, the Tigers suffered a 0-2 loss, their first of the season.

 

Iowa Wesleyan fell behind just over twenty minutes into the match.  The Kohawks took a 1-0 lead with goal from five yards out.  Coe extended their lead to 2-0 on an unassisted goal with 35:44 on the clock.

The Tigers had several opportunities to get on the board, but they were unable to get a shot by the Kohawk's goalie.  IW outshot Coe 13-4 and had three more corner kicks than their opponent in the contest.  Blas Villaseca (FR/Spain) led the team with two shots on goal, and Jorge Sierra Geleas and David Chaves Duran (SO/Costa Rica) each had one shot on goal.

Iowa Wesleyan will be back in action on September 7th. They will travel to Hannibal-LaGrange University for a 5 pm start.  The Tigers are now 1-1 on the season.
