Menís Golf Ends Season with Third Place Finish at Fighting Scot Invite

Monmouth, IL – The Iowa Wesleyan men's golf team competed in their final tournament of the 2017 spring season this weekend.  Yesterday was the first day of competition, and they were scheduled to play the second and final day today. Due to the weather forecast, play was suspended in day two, and the event was called.  Scores from the first day became final, and the Tigers ended up taking third place.

Iowa Wesleyan finished the day with a team score of 297, thirteen strokes over par.  The Tigers had two players finish in the top five in individual scoring.

Michael Neff (SR/Monroe, IA) led the team after finishing the day three strokes under par with a score of 68.  Neff ended the day in a three way tie for first place.  His score of 68 was the lowest of his career at Iowa Wesleyan.

The next best finisher for Iowa Wesleyan was Kiley Miller (JR/Mt. Pleasant, IA). Miller recorded a fifth place finish for the Tigers after turning in a scorecard of 70 through eighteen holes.

The Tigers competed in eight tournaments this spring season. Their best result was a second place finish in their own IW Tiger Classic tournament on April 3.  IW took third place in the conference championship, with Kiley Miller earning medalist honors.
